Assignment
- Each group will be assigned one of the following Victorian styles to research and analyze:
- Egyptian Revival
- Moorish/Turkish
- Indian
- Spanish Colonial Revival
Chapters 34 and 38 of your textbook will be especially helpful
- Compile at least 14 images that best illustrate
- How “foreign” design motifs found their way into English and American design
- How these design motifs were used, what they meant, etc.
- Analyze your images and explain to your audience how these two objectives are achieved
- Images must include the following
- Exteriors, interiors, furniture, textiles, and finish materials
- Include the name of the piece/bldg, location, purpose, and designer and date if known
- Explanation of the design features and characteristics; historical significance
- Organize into a 15 minute slide presentation to share with the class
- Please burn the presentation along with a document of your notes onto a CD
- Label CD with name of presentation, group members, class and quarter
- Include a bibliography as your last slide

- Be prepared to ask questions of the other presenters
